Using ActionScript to Control MovieClip Properties
Introduction
This is a good tutorial for people who are comfortable with basic Flash - symbols, tweens, and simple button and frame actions. It explains how to use actionScript to talk to movie clips, what some of the different properties of movie clips are, and a few different ways to write scripts that affect those properties. Getting familiar with some basic script syntax and a few properties of movie clips will open a lot of doors for designers who want to start using ActionScript, but don't want to step in the programming "tar pit." Most importantly, these scripts produce a direct visual result on the screen. We're not building a random quote display, a hangman game or calculating compound interest. This is useful and interesting to creative people.
