Top
Introduction
This tutorial will help you create a teleprompter using Wildform Flair. Wildform Flair contains many features that are not covered here. Instructions on how to use these features are located in the Help file of the Wildform Flair program itself. We also offer numerous tutorials on how to use Wildform Flair in the tutorials section of our web site.

Your Wildform Flair program will now open.

Step Two: Setting project dimensions
We will now set the dimension of out teleprompter. For this demonstration I want a rectangular shape.

In the Project Settings toolbar, change the dimensions to 600 x 175.

Step Three: Changing your projects background color
Now we will change the teleprompter’s background color. For this project we will use the color black.

NOTE: You can also have a transparent background by going to the Slide Settings window and selecting the Transparent Background box.

To change your project’s background color select the “Fill Color” button on the draw toolbar.
Select a color and choose from solid, linear and radial gradient options.

Step Four: Opening text effect animator and typing in text
There are several ways you can create animated text effects with Wildform Flair. You can use the text effect wizard, you can select Create Text Effect from the Text menu.
Type your text in the text field of the main tab. You may also change your font attributes and font color in this window. We will now select a scrolling text effect for our teleprompter. Wildform Flair has an excellent effect for this. In the Type folder select the Scroll Up Block effect. To save and insert the text animation onto the stage click the Save & Insert button.
The text animation has now been placed on the stage.

Step Five: Sizing your text effect
We will now size the text effect to be the same as our project stage.

Open the Object tab of the Settings window; in the Appearance tab adjust the Width and Height in the Transform Options section.
To center your text over the stage use the Horizontal and Vertical Center In Slide icons in the Align toolbar.
To preview your teleprompter click the play preview button.

Step Six: Playback
Now that our teleprompter is functional we want to add a couple finishing touches. We don’t want our project to start playing automatically, so we will include a click to begin playback feature. We will also include one the many players available with Wildform Flair.

To insert the click to begin playback feature open the Export tab in the Settings window. Select the Flash SWF tab and in the ‘Start of movie options’ section select the ‘Click to begin playback’ button.
To include a player select the Player tab in the Export tab in the Settings window. In the Player skin options check the ‘Include player when exporting’ box. You may choose any of the players listed, to preview the player click the View skin button.
Play controls will only work to rewind to the beginning because of the way this scrolling text animation is generated – they cannot be used to ff or rew etc.

Step Seven: Export your Flash file
Select Export File under the File menu to export your file. At the Export File box you may change file name. Click Save.

You can then play your file while you are recording a voiceover or video presentation in another project.

Conclusion
We have now covered everything necessary to create a teleprompter with Wildform Flair. You can do much more with Wildform Flair including adding images, audio, and even video. Other tutorials will cover these subjects. The Wildform Flair help file also addresses these topics.
